Con el apoyo obtenido del Fondo FEDER de la Unión Europea, INTERNATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS GROUP, S.L. ha llevado a cabo en sus instalaciones de Agoncillo (Logroño) la mejora de la eficiencia de los procesos productivos de IAC GROUP, concretamente de dos de las inyectoras utilizadas en el proceso de moldeo por inyección de piezas como paragolpes y consolas o paneles de instrumentos, y con ello reducir el consumo energético de la planta de Agoncillo. Para ello, se ha sustituido dos máquinas inyectoras de elevado consumo y tecnología obsoleta por 2 máquinas de inyección de nueva generación que permiten reducir el consumo eléctrico del proceso de moldeo por inyección.

LUXEMBOURG (June 8, 2020) – With the support obtained from the FEDER Fund of the European Union, INTERNATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS GROUP, S.L. has carried out at its facilities in Agoncillo (Logroño) the improvement of the efficiency of the production processes of the IAC GROUP, specifically two of the injection machines used in the injection molding process of parts such as bumpers and consoles or instrument panels, and thereby reduce the energy consumption of the Agoncillo plant. For this, two high-consumption injection machines and obsolete technology have been replaced by 2 new-generation injection machines that reduce the electrical consumption of the injection molding process.

 (IAC Group), a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems, announced today it will increase its presence in Elmdon, U.K., by expanding its headliner manufacturing facility in the region. The facility is strategically located close to the production site of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and will be solely used to service the longtime customer.

The site will be used for manufacturing, assembly and sequencing, in addition to housing certain centralized U.K.-based functions such as engineering, program management, commercial, finance and IT. The company plans to invest in state-of-the-art highly automated process manufacturing for the site.

“We are a customer-centric company, which is why it was an easy decision for us to expand our operations near our customer’s production sites,” said Manfred Gingl, IAC Group’s CEO. “IAC views the U.K. as a strategic market, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with JLR long into the future.”

IAC currently supplies components and interior trim to Land Rover and Range Rover models in the U.K. The company anticipates full production at the site in 2021 and will create an additional 400 jobs in the region.

IAC signed an 11-year lease for two buildings through Prologis Park Birmingham Interchange (PPBI). The two buildings located at PPBI total 310,000 sq. ft. The West Midlands region of England has experienced tremendous growth in the automotive sector in recent years.

IAC Group Expands Presence in the U.K.

 (IAC) Group, a global automotive and mobility leader in lightweight and new-material interior solutions, has named Sunil Koparkar as vice president of operations for India, Japan and Thailand, effective immediately. Based at the company’s Pune, India location, Koparkar will oversee the operations and growth strategy for the three countries. He replaces Gajanan Gandhe, who will leave the company next month for a new opportunity.“We are very fortunate to have someone of Sunil’s caliber to lead the team and our operations in these countries,” said IAC President Nat Rea. “His track record of driving operational improvements and growth are going to be a tremendous advantage for IAC as we expand in this region.”Koparkar brings 30 years of operational and leadership experience to this position. He joins IAC, from Armstrong Fluid Technologies, Inc., where he served as Director of Global Operations. In that role, he implemented production efficiencies and Lean concepts that improved lead times and waste reduction and streamlined processes. Prior to that, Koparkar was Vice President of Operations for ABC Group, Inc., where he was credited with improving plant efficiency from 70% to 75% and launched a greenfield manufacturing site in Poland in under six months. Before that, Sunil held various operational leadership roles with global manufacturing companies including KN Rubber, Tectrol, Alcyone Technologies, Magna International and MSB Plastics.

Koparkar earned Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Basel, Switzerland and a bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering from SBM Polytechnic in Mumbai, India.

In a Nod to New York Fashion Week, Gown and Accessories to be Worn by IAC Executive at Charity Preview Event

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sep. 12, 2022 – International Automotive Components Group (IAC Group), a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems, has contributed to some of the automotive industry’s most modern luxury interiors. Today, the company celebrated the convergence of fashion, sustainability, and automotive design with the unveiling of a bespoke gown created by a global team of IAC Group’s talented designers and award-winning seamstresses in honor of the return of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). 

“IAC Group is dedicated to creating sustainable environments that we live, work, and move in,” said IAC Group chief administrative officer, Iwona Niec Villaire. “This gown exemplifies how beautiful sustainable products can be, and I’m honored to have been chosen to showcase IAC’s creativity in such an exciting way.”

IAC Group’s reveal of this gown at the Charity Preview Event at NAIAS coincides with New York Fashion Week, where designers from around the world unite in New York for the fashion industry’s biggest showcase.

IAC Group Chief Administrative Officer Iwona Villaire wears a gown created and sewn by IAC seamstresses. The gown uses three types of sustainable materials traditionally found in several of IAC Group’s automotive applications.

Materials selected for the dress were done so in collaboration with IAC Group’s advanced engineering team, Susan Kozora, director of advanced engineering and Michael Behnke, director, innovation & advanced technology in Europe. This team is responsible for designing and leading technology development for the automotive market with a focus on reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

“IAC Group is dedicated to identifying, sourcing and utilizing the most responsible materials when creating our inspired, sustainable mobile environments,” said Kozora. “Our team was thrilled to be part of this exciting challenge.” 

As a testament to IAC Group’s commitment to sustainability, the company was recently awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal for its sustainability program in 2022. This award places IAC Group in the top three percent of companies rated by EcoVadis within its peer group.

IAC Group Chief Administrative Officer Iwona Villaire adorns earrings handmade by an IAC Group engineer using materials made from recycled ocean plastics. The gown and jewelry will be proudly worn by Villaire at the 2022 NAIAS Charity preview.

The initial design for the gown was hand sketched by Villaire herself. As IAC group’s Chief Administrative Officer, Villaire is responsible for leading the company’s legal, human resource and sustainability functions. This project was an opportunity for her to exhibit her personal creativity and passion for design.

Using that sketch, Urszula Olkiewicz, junior trim engineer at IAC Group’s Opole, Poland facility worked with Kozora and Behnke to select materials. Using her experience in the creation of new products such as jacket designs for the sewing department at IAC Group, Olkiewicz designed and developed the gown from the selected materials to bring Villaire’s vision to life. Olena Korolova, sewing production operator who is responsible for sewing for serial production and new products at IAC Group’s Opole facility, assisted Olkiewicz. Korolova and Olkiewicz also created a tie that will be worn by IAC Group Chief Commercial Officer Sebastian de Coster. 

“This gown exhibits the collective skills, expertise and attention to detail our teams at IAC Group have for each and every product we touch. Our seamstresses are on par with those whose work is dawning the runways of New York this week for fashion week,” said Villaire. 

Despite international distances and conflicting timezones, the gown progressed from concept to debut in a remarkable timeframe of just 16 short weeks. 

Having been recognized with multiple awards such as the 2021 Ford World Excellence Award for the Mach-E Frunk, this sustainability effort is just another example of IAC Group’s dedication to bold execution in each of its programs.
